South Carolina BBQ & Catering, LLC is a family owned and operated business. The founders of this family owned business are from South Carolina and hence the name of the business. The name is reflective of the family’s quest to bring our southern style barbeque foods to the MD/DC/PA/VA area.

 

     At South Carolina BBQ, we believe that our unique taste comes from our seasoning and barbeque sauce. We make our own seasoning and barbeque sauce from family recipes passed down generation after generation. South Carolina BBQ varies based on what parts of the state you visit. Our barbeque is a mustard and vinegar base. We use this base to make our barbeque sauce and mince BBQ. In addition to mince BBQ, we have smoked turkey legs, ribs, Italian sausages, pit beef, smoked turkey, collard greens, potato salad, candied yams, fries, collard greens, and BBQ baked beans.

 

     South Carolina BBQ provides southern style barbeque through our:  1) catering services,  2) festival participation in the MD/DC/PA/VA area, 3) BBQ stand operations and 4) BBQ competitions in the Maryland area.

 

     We provide private and corporate catering services 7 days a week. We sell select barbequed foods at area festivals almost every weekend from April to October. We are in the process of relocating our barbeque stand operations. Due to our high volume of festival participation and catering activities, the opening of our barbeque stand operations have been delayed and are scheduled to reopen in April of 2009.

 

     In June of 2008, South Carolina BBQ started competing and participating in Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned events in the Maryland area. South Carolina BBQ competes in the ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and beef brisket categories of the competition. We provide several opportunities for our customers to try our delicious food throughout the year. We are certain that you will enjoy our food.

     Baltimore, MD -- With the summertime heat settling in, South Carolina BBQ & Catering, LLC is starting the summer off on fire. On Saturday, June 7th, South Carolina BBQ & Catering competed in the Third Annual Beltway BBQ Showdown in Prince George’s County, Maryland.  The South Carolina BBQ Team received a first and second-place trophy along with a cash prise for their Award Winning BBQ.  We won first place for ribs, second place for pulled pork, and ranked third place  overall in the competition.

     The Showdown is one of the many Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned events and the first time South Carolina BBQ competed in a BBQ competition. The BBQ Showdown hosted thirty competitors from all over the country at the Prince George’s County Learning & Sports Complex on Sherriff Road.

     South Carolina BBQ specializes in special events, festivals, and catering. The company also participates in festivals such as Johns Hopkins Spring Fair, Artscape, African American Heritage Festival, Baltimore’s Book Festival, and the Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival. During the company’s first year at Artscape, Rob Roblin of WBAL's Channel 11 News interviewed South Carolina BBQ representatives, tasted their food, and recommended festival goers visit their food booth at the festival.

 

      Festival goers in the Maryland, DC, and Pennsylvania area know South Carolina BBQ for their delicious mince BBQ, tender ribs, dinosaur-sized smoked turkey legs, flavor-filled pit beef, and real smoked turkey. On June 21 & 22, 2008, South Carolina BBQ will be a food vendor at the nationally recognized Safeway BBQ Battle in Washington, DC and will be returning to Johnstown, PA on Labor Day weekend for the Folkfest for a rock’in good time with Pennsylvania festival goers.

      South Carolina BBQ’s next scheduled BBQ competition will be held at the Old Love Point Park in Stevensville, MD at the Chesapeake Bay BBQ Cook-Off to benefit the Maryland Special Olympics on Saturday, July 25, 2008 from 11 am - 6 pm.
